Usually held in May, the Pisa Marathon is deemed by certain advised voices one of the best 101 races to be run in a lifetime. This label speaks for the quality of the race and for its popularity alike, thousands of runners attending to this event each year. Adding the fact that the marathon as such is complemented by a half marathon for skaters and runners alike, one can only understand that the event is highly looked forward to by the enthusiasts willing to face their ambitions and training with the challenges of the run.

However, it is on December the 19th that the Marathon is programmed in 2010 – by reasons of more proper weather conditions – and the run stretches between the town of Pontedera and the center of Pisa, namely, Piazza dei Miracoli. It is in the same place that the half marathon finishes, though it starts only about 21 kilometers from the Piazza, namely, in Navacchio Cascina. In view of facilitating the carrying out of the event, the authorities in charge with its organization make available buses to transport competitors to the starting points of the marathon and of the half marathon, respectively. Further information and specific details about the event to be held in 2010 can be found by visiting www.pisamarathon.it.
